Sam Volman - Composer for Film & Games
Sam Volman (1999) is a multimedia composer who blends different genres into a fresh and distinctive sound. He started writing and producing his own music at sixteen, beginning with electronic production. Over time, this grew into a broader focus on composition for film, games, and commercial media.
His work combines electronic elements with orchestral writing, creating a cinematic style shaped by various genres and cultural influences. By bringing together digital textures and live-inspired instrumentation, he builds immersive soundscapes that feel modern and emotionally engaging.
During his studies, he worked on several film and game projects, gaining experience in storytelling, interactivity, and the role music plays in shaping the audience’s experience. These projects strengthened his ability to translate narrative, pacing, and atmosphere into clear and effective musical ideas, using a broad variety of styles.
During an internship at MassiveMusic he gained experience in the commercial music industry. There, he contributed to campaigns for brands such as Philips, ING, and HEMA, developing his skills in creative collaboration and delivering music within professional production environments.
Currently in the final stages of Music & Technology at the HKU and working on multiple film projects for his graduation portfolio, Sam is excited to step into the professional world of media composition.
