TOGETHER WE CREATE PRIVATE KITCHEN

In 2020, ‘Private Kitchen’ launced 5 online magazines, each with a central talkshow/interview with a media composer. The idea for this talkshow 'Private Kitchen' was conceived by the MiMM-founder Loek Dikker, when MiMM devised and co-produced the Museum Night for the NL Film Institute EYE. Together with his co-board member Rens Machielse, the talkshow was transformed into a separate event, corona-proof and future-proof, and eventually they ended up establishing the Online Media Music Magazine ‘Private Kitchen’.

Private Kitchen now transformed into an online platform with interviews, registrations and news for, and by, dutch music composers for media.

For our series of on-location/studio interviews, director and filmmaker João Rodrigues, host & actress Alexa Rodrigues and camera operator Maja Andersson visit media composers for in depth interviews on their projects, their instruments and how they work. In our upcoming series Anatomy of a Cue Ivo Witteveen develops interviews where composers explain in a snippet how they created specific parts for a project.

Private Kitchen is produced by Rens Machielse & Sebastiaan Donders and is financially supported by Buma Music in Motion and SENA.

Muziekinstituut Multimedia

Music Institute MultiMedia (MiMM) is an initiative of media composers and organizers from the cultural sector. The Institute is also a movement, and its goal is to give mediamusic and its authors their legitimate place in the consciousness of professionals as well as of the general public. The genre of MultiMedia Music includes music for film, video, television, advertising, games, theater, dance and art installations.

The importance and ubiquity of this genre of music, is inconsistent with the silence surrounding the position and visibility of the multimedia composer. MiMM therefore organizes special musical projects such as teams of sometimes twenty composers cooperating on the same project, next to a flow of information to make the social and cultural significance of composers and their multimedia work visible.

MiMM is a platform, a community, and a knowledge center, next to being the initiator of large and unusual projects that generate attention for composers and their music in this field.

BUMA MUSIC IN MOTION

Buma Music in Motion (BMIM) is the place in the creative industries where music and media converge.

BMIM believes that all music – composed, commissioned, custom, production, library and sync’d – has a critical role to play in film, television, gaming and advertising production. Too often the value and role of music can be treated as an afterthought. Let’s change this paradigm.

Next to their own conference and award show BMIM is also present at Netherlands Film Festival, IFFR, IDFA, Cannes Lions, Eurosonic Noorderslag and Musexpo.
