Danny Weijermans - Scoring for “Galapagos: Hope for the future” documentary
In this video, Danny Weijermans shows in detail how he composed and produced the orchestral score for the documentary Galapagos: Hope for the Future. He explains how he develops musical material, uses a modular approach so that he can relatively easily adapt to changes in video editing, works with mock-ups, develops a template during the project, etc. All this with examples from his score and a 'making of' of the actual orchestral recordings by the Sofia Orchestra from Bulgaria. All in all, a story that provides a great deal of insight into composing and producing orchestral music for documentaries.
