Participate in the Market for Music Composition for Image

The Music & Cinema Festival international du film à Marseille, which will take place from April 4 to 9, 2022, is setting up the European Market for Musical Composition for the Image/ 3rd Character.

This market brings together producers, directors and composers around international film projects (short or feature films), looking for a composer to create the music of their project. The European Market for Film Music Composition / Third Character professional meetings will be held on Thursday April 07th and Friday April 08th 2022.

How does it work

The duet producer/director of the project will submit the screenplay, one month before the Festival, to 4 or more composers specifying the excerpt on which they will work, as well as his musical intentions. During the Festival, the producer and the director will receive each composer for an individual interview during which they will evaluate the artistic qualities of the musical projects. It will then be up to the composer to convince them to collaborate to create together. At the end of these meetings, it will be up to each producer/director duet to consider a future collaboration with a composer to whom they will entrust the musical score of their project.

This market is organised on the basis of a call for applications from composers. Each composer will work on one or more scenarios (of their choice) and meet the producer/producer partner associated with the project(s). The composer will have one month to make a musical proposal and 1 hour to convince the producer/director duo during a meeting on Thursday 7 and/or Friday 8 April 2022.

Requirements to apply: You need to be a composer and/or musician, with a relationship between music and image, and you need to be available April 7 and 8, 2022.

Registration is free, you are required to submit your registration by january 28th, 2022. You can find all information on the Music & Cinema Festival webpage.
